Fabric review by Camila from Chile

Camila from Chile has written a wonderful post on her award winning blog about the fabrics that I sent her from Eco Fabric Store as well as from Fibers to Fabric Stores.

She has clicked some gorgeous pictures of the fabrics and plans to use them in really interesting projects in some time.

The classic and subtle grey on white print is the Folk Tribal Print. It is a super organic cotton fabric which is hand dyed with herbal vegetable dyes. The fabric lends a soft and soothing touch and is very versatile for most sewing and quilting projects.

Herbal dyeing is basically the expertise of dyeing/printing with flowers, roots, fruits such as turmeric, onion, myraballams, madder, kesu flowers, dhavadi flowers and natural indigo. This not only prevents water pollution due to replacement of petrochemical dyes with vegetable dyes/natural dyes, but also imparts medicinal value to cloth as many herbs used for dyeing have high medicinal value. This mimics and age old process from Ancient India which was historically done by hand and on a small scale.

The elephant print on the other hand is printed on high standard pure cotton with regular dyes. It one of our super hit best selling print. I have seen this print used in skirts, tops, home furnishings, wall hangings, linings, toddler rooms, boho clothing, belts, jackets, stoles and even cloth earrings !

The good news is that you have a chance to win a $15 worth of store credit to buy any fabric of your choice from any store. All you can hover back to Camila’s blog and participate in the giveaway at the end of this post.

Good luck !
