Favorite Pictures from October

Here is a round up of some of my favorite pictures from last month. Unlike every month and every day that is so busy for me, the last month – aka October was truly exceptional. I was literally struggling to keep up to the 3rd page of my mental to do list ! We celebrated Navratri festival and then had my daughters Mundan ceremony , followed by an Ear piercing ceremony, an outstation travel and then there was Diwali. Amidst all this I had an episode of my phone falling in the water, to frantic back ups to a new phone and set up. So with all said and done, I am hoping to slide in the “regular busy” schedule soon!

Below are some of the favorite images I came across the last month :

  1. Indian Women – Garba attire. I found this picture online and loved it instantly. Back in the days, myself and my sister would be dressed very similarly and we would go to play Garba and Dandiya (the famous dances of Gujarat state in India ) with our friends and neighbors in our community. What I love is the riot of colors all in one garment and yet it doesn’t look overdone !

2. My 1.5 year old raiding the kitchen ! It is customary to deep clean one’s house before Diwali because it is said that the Goddess of Wealth – Laxmi likes clean, positive and happy homes and that she would always stay there. Now who wouldnt want that ! So any typical believer along with their cleaning staff would be found cleaning and scrubbing and scouring their houses and offices to welcome their beloved Goddess in their lives and make her a permanent resident with them. We weren’t any different ! This is that time of the year when no staff complaints of extra cleaning or scrubbing either (coz they are going to be rewarded and gifted too 🙂 lol ! ) So there we were – with the kitchen day planned and successfully cleaned. The tiles, counters, cabinets , shelves et all glistened.. And by the afternoon, my explorative toddler calmly strolled her way to the kitchen and figured a way to poke her little fingers in the fridge and the cabinets. The result is for all to see !

3. The other two images are of me as a proud mommy – coz my daughter (with the help of her baby sitter) created her very first wall art. She used sponge stamps and non toxic paints and created Apple trees with sunflowers on them and maybe a huge patch of what we are assuming is grass !  This is such a precious keepsake for us.

4. I was sent an appreciative image of an Indian Journals client. She was so kind to send an image of how she uses the journals and how she keeps them.
